Mixer Installation and Removal
When to involve us
Replacing a mixer involves more than selecting the new unit. The existing equipment must be removed, the replacement must fit the tank and mounting arrangement, and the installation has to be planned around the plant’s outage schedule.
Agitation Resources can help plan the replacement, supply the equipment, and coordinate the field installation. Send us photos of the existing mixer and mounting arrangement, along with any information you have on the replacement. We’ll review the equipment and field scope together.
How the work is handled
We work with an installation crew on field projects. Agitation Resources remains your point of contact for the mixer and the installation scope. Once we understand the site requirements, we can quote the equipment and field work together.
Contact us early if the existing mixer may be difficult to remove, access above the tank is limited, or the replacement requires changes to the mounting arrangement. Early planning is also useful when the outage window is fixed or your maintenance crew is committed to other work.
What the field work may include
- Removing the existing mixer, drive, shaft, and mounting components
- Setting and aligning the replacement assembly
- Installing a mounting plate or pedestal where required
- Connecting couplings, guards, and shafting included in the agreed scope
- Supporting startup and checking the installed assembly
What we need to review
The scope depends on the existing equipment, site access, and what the plant will provide during the outage. We will define those details before quoting the field work.
Existing equipment
Photos of the mixer, mount, tank top, and surrounding access. Nameplate information and any available drawings.
Site and access
Tank and platform height, overhead clearance, and lifting access. Site location.
Replacement unit
Details of the replacement mixer, if one has already been selected.
Outage and site support
Expected outage window. What the plant can provide for lifting, electrical work, and equipment isolation.
Discuss your installation
Tell us about the existing mixer and the planned replacement. We will review the installation and identify what we need to prepare the equipment and field work quote.
