Agitation Resources

In-Line Mixers

ALI Group

The ALI Group is Agitation Resources’ line of static inline mixers for continuous blending, chemical injection, pH adjustment, heat transfer and other applications where process streams must be mixed within a pipeline. These mixers use stationary internal elements rather than a rotating shaft and impeller. As fluid passes through the elements, the stream is divided and redirected to produce mixing across the pipe cross section. The required configuration depends on the flow rate, fluid properties, pipe size, allowable pressure drop and mixing objective.

Mixing Without Rotating Components

Static inline mixers have no motor, gearbox, bearings or rotating shaft. This can simplify installation and maintenance where adequate flow and pressure are available. Element geometry and the number of elements are selected to provide the required blending or dispersion while managing pressure drop through the mixer. Performance depends on the actual operating range and the properties of every process stream entering the mixer.

Application Specific Construction

Housing diameter, element geometry, element length, materials of construction and end connections are selected for the piping system and process conditions. Units can be configured with fixed or removable elements according to cleaning, inspection and maintenance requirements. Agitation Resources evaluates chemical compatibility, temperature, pressure, solids content, flow variation and available pumping capacity when configuring an ALI static inline mixer.

Send the flow rate, pipe size, fluid properties and allowable pressure drop for an ALI sizing review.

ALI Group: In-Line Static Mixers

ALI Group static mixers use fixed internal elements to blend process streams inside a pipeline, with no rotating parts. Mixing comes from the flow itself as it is divided and recombined across the elements.

We select element geometry, length, material and end connections from the flow range, the fluid properties, the allowable pressure drop and the cleaning requirements.

Key Features

  • No rotating parts: nothing in the flow path turns, so there is no drive, shaft or seal to maintain. The unit still needs inspection and cleaning suited to the service.
  • Element geometry: helical or custom elements sized for the mixing length the duty requires.
  • Selected per application: element count and length set from flow rate, viscosity and allowable pressure drop.
  • Material options: PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, PVDF, stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium.
  • In-line construction: takes up pipe length rather than floor space, and needs no motor connection.

Specifications

Operation Type In-line, static (no moving parts)
Construction Materials PVC, CPVC, polypropylene, PVDF, stainless steel, nickel alloys, or titanium
Mixing Elements Helical, plate, or custom designs for optimized flow blending
Flow Range Custom sized based on process conditions
Applications Continuous blending, reagent injection, chemical dosing, and gas/liquid dispersion
  • Chemical dosing and reagent injection systems
  • Water and wastewater treatment
  • Polymer and resin blending
  • Food and beverage processing
  • Gas–liquid and liquid–liquid dispersion systems

The ALI Group covers static in-line mixers for continuous blending, chemical injection, pH adjustment and similar duties where the mixing can happen inside the pipe. The mixing energy comes from the flow already in the line, so there is no motor to power and no seal or bearing to maintain.

Sizing is a trade-off between mixing length and pressure drop. Tell us the flow range and the pressure drop the line can accept and we will work to both.
