ARIP Group
The ARIP Group is Agitation Resources’ line of portable mixers for open tanks and processing vessels where equipment must be repositioned or a permanent rigid mounting arrangement is unnecessary or impractical. These units provide blending and solids suspension without dedicated overhead infrastructure or bridge supports. Facilities use portable mixers for temporary processing, maintenance blending and applications that require a mixer to move between vessels. Matching the impeller geometry and drive capacity to the working volume, fluid properties and vessel geometry allows the mixer to be configured for the required circulation and shear.
Adaptable Mounting and Drive Configurations
The mechanical utility of a portable mixer depends on its mounting hardware and drive configuration. Units can be secured to a tank wall or lip with a clamp mount or installed on an appropriate support or cup plate arrangement. When a permanent installation is preferred, similar compact power ranges can instead be supplied as plate mounted AHM top entry mixers. Depending on viscosity, torque and speed requirements, the mixer may use a direct drive or gear reduced configuration. Electric and air motor drives are available. Air motors are commonly specified for solvent and flammable services, though the final drive selection must match the facility’s hazardous area classification and operating requirements.
Mechanical Integrity and Component Selection
A portable mixer is handled, repositioned and remounted far more often than a fixed unit, and the mechanical design accounts for that duty. Drive enclosures and wetted materials are selected for the process environment and for the physical handling the unit will see. The shaft and impeller assembly is sized for the applied loads and operating speed, with runout and balance controlled to limit the vibration transmitted into a clamp or portable mounting point. Because that mounting point is not a fixed structure, the clamp or support arrangement is selected to carry the mixer loads without excessive movement. Bearing assemblies are selected for a calculated L10 life based on the specified loads and duty cycle.

The ARIP Group covers portable agitators for open tanks, drums and smaller vessels, used where the mixer has to be moved between vessels or a fixed mount is impractical. Clamp-on and cup-mounted arrangements are both available.
We select the drive, mounting arrangement, shaft and impeller for the vessel and the duty. Electric and air motor options can be reviewed against the site requirements.
